Solar power produces clean, coal-free energy for your home. It can also provide the opportunity for a work from home, green collar job. It is remarkable easy to join the solar revolution and it is a perfect time to be involved in the renewable energy industry – especially the solar (PV) industry.

The cost of energy, across all industry sectors and types, continues to increase. CO2 emissions and the release of Greenhouse Gases (GHGs) are changing the climate. The support and management issue related to an old energy grid erodes security.

The need to adopt and upgrade the American home to solar energy has never been more apparent. Emerging U.S. companies are ensuring that residential customers are afforded the opportunity to take advantage of renewable technologies through innovative solar system rental services. Companies are positioning the rental of solar panels and entire residential systems as a means to modernize the U.S. energy infrastructure, to increase global energy supplies, and to provide methods for entrepreneurs to create home-based, solar energy businesses.

Solar panel systems and related technologies are innovating quickly to address today’s global climate and energy challenges. With the solar revolution comes unequaled opportunity. It offers excellent business growth for work from home, solar energy consultants who want to create a way forward. Home-based businesses, particularly in rural or small town settings, are helping many people achieve the balance between economic prosperity and personal well being. Home-based businesses are now recognized as a viable source of new jobs and economic growth. Entrepreneurs are creating their own alternative jobs from home rather than seek corporate employment.

The home-based, solar energy business explained here has a great mission. Its grassroots goal is to spread the use of clean, renewable power as simply and as rapidly as possible. This solar rental service has removed many of the challenges associated with both the use of residential solar energy as well as the entrepreneurs wishing to start a work-from-home business.

The solar industry’s dramatic expansion is both exciting and a movement worth of crafting a new small business around. A alternatively powered home is now affordable with new options to rent solar energy systems for long term cost savings. Many people are selecting renewable energy to run their hot water and pool heaters. All of this energy can now be produced with rented solar energy systems. Solar plants consume little or no fuel, saving billions of dollars year after year. The infrastructure would displace 300 large coal-fired power plants and 300 more large natural gas plants and all the fuels they consume.

Solar does seem about to become a major player in the energy market. Solar energy systems are now rentable. Solar module brackets, solar module frames and profile channels according to the present invention can be formed of any suitable material with the entire solar energy system packaged up for one day installations and rental options that lock in the cost of energy for up to 25 years.

Starting a home based solar energy business has many rewards and challenges. Starting a business is a big responsibility that includes commitment, professionalism, training, and self-discipline. It involves careful consideration, such as what type of competition you’ll encounter and the demand for the solar rental service you can expect. Starting today in the solar industry does not take large financial investments. A green collar job is available in the alternative energy industry.

What are the Different Work from Home Options Available for Moms?

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

Making money from the internet is your objective, hoping to find one just like what was advertised on late night television. Internet marketers preach of endless turnkey business opportunities found online truly the perfect solution for a stay-at-home mom. While it is a tried and tested fact that such business opportunities do exist, it is always best to test the waters before jumping into the deep.

Stay at home moms who have real work-at-home jobs are often times not taken seriously. Some people think that if you’re a mom working from home, your income is not substantial enough to make a living, or your job is not difficult enough to be called real. This is where they are extremely wrong because being a work-at-home mom is not at all simple. Why, balancing both home and office under one roof takes plenty of skills and discipline!

Perhaps we have heard the term work-from-home too many times, it almost sounds trite. A regular mother might simply ask: what are the options for me? How would you define a work-from-home job? Is work-from-home a real job? Being a stay at home mom propels you to think about how to make a decent living while taking care of the children. After all, day care and babysitting services are getting more and more expensive.

Some work-from-home options may be legitimate, while others may not be. Some of the things to look out for include websites without any contact details, those who ask you to register first before giving out any further information and those who do not have complete information at all. Work-at-home moms should not act too eager because these scammers typically pounce on the desperate.

Legitimate work-from-home options include affiliate marketing and selling, being a service provider for an employer-employee match website, drop shipping, auctioning and many other similar forms of online entrepreneurship. These are, of course, the genuine and justifiable options which can only work when given the same care you would to a regular offline business. In a sense, any work-from-home option can only succeed if you are as determined and as driven as all the previous entrepreneurs who have achieved and conquered their goals through hard work.

Work-from-home options come by the hundreds. If you are job hunting, start by browsing on job boards and websites like craigslist and monster jobs. Or perhaps register at an online marketplace for freelancers such as oDesk and Elance. Better yet, join an affiliate marketing program if you feel it’s your cup of tea. Another way is to simply start your home business be it selling and arranging flowers, making scented candles or baking cookies and advertise it online through an optimized website.

Foreclosure Cleaning Business Advice: How to Get Operating Capital in 24-72 Hours

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

If you want to start a foreclosure cleaning business, but don’t think it’s possible because you don’t have the startup capital needed, following is a solution you may not know about. It’s one used by many small businesses who have a cash crunch — whether they’re just starting out or are growing too fast. What is it?

Factoring. Never heard of it? Read on.

Foreclosure Cleaning Business: A Surefire Way to Get the Cash You Need to Run Your Business

A factor is a company that gives a business a loan based on their receivables (ie, invoices). This is the way it works.

Say you bid on — and win — a job cleaning foreclosures that’s going to gross you $8,963. But, you need to rent a dumpster and a truck, pay four temporary workers, buy industrial cleaning supplies and pay an HVAC professional to re-install a water heater that vandals had damaged when they were ripping out the copper wiring.

And, let’s just say this is going to cost you $1,950. You know you can do the job, but you can’t afford to lay out the almost two grand it’s going to cost to get the job done and wait 60-90 days to get paid.

Well, this is when a factor can help. You simply submit the invoice to them and they will fund it (ie, lend you the money upfront), usually within 24-72 hours. Now, it costs you a hefty percent — usually in the neighborhood of 10-20 percent, but you don’t have to wait to get paid from the bank that you did the job for.

Foreclosure Cleaning Business Owners: What You Should Know about Factors

Following are a few upfront facts you should know about working with factors.

Application: You have to fill out an application. This simply involves giving them all of your business information, eg, EIN number, how long you’ve been in business, banking information; type of business; insurance info; etc.

No Credit Check: Working with a factor is not credit based. What this means is your credit is not important because the factor bases their decision to fund you on the institution you’re getting paid from. So, if you’re doing foreclosure cleaning and you’re being paid by a major bank like Chase for example, then they look at Chase’s credit — not yours.

All or Nothing: Some factors require that you factor all of your invoices with them. Don’t sign on with one like this. You want to look for a factor you can use on an a la carte basis — eg, factor only those invoices you want and/or need to factor. If you can afford to wait to get paid for a $1,200 job, then wait. Why give away profits when you don’t need to?

Working with a factor is a great way to grow your foreclosure cleaning business. But, take the time to investigate fully before you sign on with one.

A Perfect Work from Home Home Opportunity: Start a Transcription Business

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

If you are looking for a business to start from home, working as a transcriptionist is an option that does not require much in terms of office space, equipment or start up costs.

A transcriptionist is an individual who types verbatim (word-for-word) something that is been recorded on either a micro-cassette or digitally.

Special transcription software and equipment helps the transcriptionist listen to the recorded material for tape players and digital files. Both generally use a foot-pedal that attaches to the transcriber or the computer and it allows the transcriptionist to start, stop, go back, and slow down the recorded material to keep their hands free for typing.

Most transcriptionists also utilize a highly sensitive headset so that the recording is clearer to hear and understand.

As a transcriptionist, you should have a keen sense of hearing and sight, excellent grammar and fast typing skills.

You should also be able to work well under tight deadlines, be able to work independently for most of the time and handle the repetition of typing, which can be a strain on the hands, wrists and the back from sitting for long periods of time. A sharp eye for detail is also essential to this job.

If you want to start a home based business doing transcription, here are some ideas to get you started:

-Get training in transcription & typing. It is important to get the proper training in order to become a skilled transcriptionist. Check out the local colleges or online programs and be sure to pick up your copy of the Transcription Starter Pack on my website.

-Write a business plan. Just like any other business, a business plan outlining how and what services you plan to offer is essential for clarity, setting up your marketing plan and acquiring business capital if it is needed.

-Set up a home office with the proper equipment. Transcriptionists need some specialized equipment. In addition to having a complete home office, you will need to invest in a reliable transcriber, software, and foot pedal.

-Market your services. You can either get work through a large national transcription company or you can find your own clients to work directly with.

A good place to start looking is with any business that involves recording of meetings, notes, research studies or educational materials.

Be sure to set up a website where potential clients can learn more about your services, read testimonials and more. Make sure you also have business cards handy as well.

Let others know who you are and what you do. Often, the best clients come from word-of-mouth. Also, always ask your satisfied clients for referrals.

Transcription is in high demand in the US and according to the Department of Labor statistics, transcriptionist jobs are growing at a higher than average rate.

Being a transcriptionist is a career that is easily managed in a work from home setting, which makes it a very attractive opportunity.

How to Become a Self Defense Products Distributor Fast

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

Many folks right now are wondering what to do next as far as a job goes. Millions have either lost their jobs or are on the brink of doing so. Companies that traditionally have been the foundation of our economy are on the brink of failure. People are scared and not sure what to do.

Retail stores are failing at an alarming rate because of over building and a decline in the discretionary spending rate.

Another factor is the frustration factor: with their jobs, their commute, their pay, their co-workers, et.al.

That is why more and more people all over the country are starting their own home based business. The decision to start one may be the easy part.

Are you sick and tired of your job? Don’t be ashamed to admit it-most people are! Things have changed so much in the business world that a simple concept of loyalty on the part of the employee and employer is long forgotten.

Nowadays people change jobs at the drop of a hat.

Why not consider being your own boss? Starting your own business? Setting your own hours and determining how much you make? Full time or part time!

Deciding which business to get into can be confusing. You have to start thru all the marketing hype and BS to figure out which business is right for you.

I went thru that process 3 years ago and found the self defense products business to be personally and financially rewarding. Selling stun guns, pepper sprays, Tasers, hidden cameras, home security products and more is not a get rich quick scheme-but it can make you more financially stable faster than most businesses.

The reason is simple. Crime is not going away and the demand for self defense products is in its’ infancy and growing.

There are multiple ways to sell these products from mail order to expos, from retail sale routes to home parties and more. They are easy to talk about and easy to sell in their retail packaging.

If you are good at marketing and sales and love helping people especially to defend themselves this could be the opportunity you have been looking for. You can be making money inside a week.

The longest journey starts with the first step. Nothing is going to happen unless you take action. What are you waiting for?

Please note: stun guns and pepper sprays have restrictions in some cities and states.

How Much Do You Charge For Your Goods And Services?

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

It’s one of the most basic, yet most elusive questions asked in all types of businesses. Of course you want to make money, but you also want to set prices at a reasonable rate so that you will not lose business. So how do you strike that balance? How do you calculate pricing for products and services offered through your business? How do you determine a rate that is right for all involved?

Business First

The first thing to remember when setting prices for goods and services is that you are in business to turn a profit – not just to be a nice guy or girl, but to make money. If you do not set your prices at a rate that allows for profitability after expenses, you do not have a profitable, sustainable, business, and success in small business will always be unachievable. If you’ve set the bar too low, you’ll be out of business within months.

Clients and Customers Second

Naturally you cannot completely ignore your clientele and customer base when setting your prices. Whomever your target audience is, your prices must reflect a cost that can be supported by that market segment. However, if you do your research and give value for the money, you should have arrived at a cost sustainable by your group.

Tips for Setting the Pricing Bar

Let’s take a look at the actual process of setting prices for products and services. Use these tips and market factors to help you arrive at a competitive pricing structure.

- First, research the competition. Get a clear view on the prices they are charging, and where your offerings can fit in along the spectrum. Use averages as a basis, and adjust up and down according to additional or lesser value (based on factors such as those following).

- Decide how to charge. Are you looking for an hourly rate or a project-based rate? Is it a unit or wholesale price you are offering? Evaluate your product, experience or skills. In service-based industries, generally speaking, an increase in experience equates to a higher fee for service.

- Account for all variables. If there is something your product offers that another doesn’t, increase to reflect the value. If there are additional costs involved for shipping, marketing and so on, add those in too. For service-based businesses, consider all the small variables that might impact pricing. If you offer additional services, compensate for them. If clients expect add-ons, build a fee structure that allows you to recoup revenue.

- Allow for overheads. Determine how much of your business’ overheads must be supported by individual sales. Build that fractional amount into your pricing.

- Build in profit. After carefully evaluating the competition and all expenses, set a base price and then build a profit-margin into it. Determine how much profit you will be satisfied with and set your price accordingly.

Justification through Value

The one factor to always keep at the forefront of pricing is value. To be clear here, this is not about justifying your price. Your price will be justified if you have set prices fairly, based on the true value of your goods or services. Focus on the value you deliver, set a reasonable, sustainable fee, and be confident that you have served the greater good of all involved.

Online Freelance Writing Jobs – Recession-Proof Work for All

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

Online freelance writing jobs provide recession-proof work for anyone who can read, write and has a computer. This is an easy career to start; one where you can literally start making money right away.

So what types of work is available for those who want to start this exciting career? Following are a few.

Types of Online Freelance Writing Jobs

SEO Article Writing: What is this? SEO is the acronym for search engine optimization. Search engine optimization is just a fancy phrase for writing copy in such a way that it helps web surfers to easily find things online.

For example, if you wanted to find out about SEO writing, what would you type into your favorite search engine to do that? You’d probably go to Google or Yahoo or MSN and type in “what is SEO” or “SEO copywriting?” Something along those lines, right?

Then, pages and pages of results would pop up. Once they do, you’d start clicking to read up on the subject.

The phrases “what is SEO” an “SEO copywriting” are called keyword phrases. SEO article writers write web content using keyword phrases supplied by the firms who hire them.

You can make $15, $25, $35 or more per 350-500 word article as an SEO article writer.

Blogging: There are plenty of online freelance writing jobs in the blogging sector. Why? Because there are affiliate marketers and other online marketers who make their living running several blogs at once.

Some may operate 10, 50 or 100 blogs or more. And, they simply don’t have the time to write copy for all of them. So, they hire freelance writers to write blog posts.

These posts are usually short — 150-250 words. The rate for this is usually in the $5 to $20 per post range. Although there are freelance blog writers who make much more, depending on the topic.

Special Reports: Another lucrative sector of the online freelance writing jobs market is special report writing.

Companies hire freelancers to produce special reports on everything from how to effectively work with a web designer to how to buy car insurance online. You can charge anywhere from $10 to $35 per page — on the low end, for these reports.

The reason companies are so willing to pay freelance writers to do special reports is that they use them as sales tools. They may use them as free giveaways for signing up to a newsletter, or as an enticement to take a one-day seminar (that cost a few thousand bucks). And, paying a freelance writer a few hundred dollars is a drop in the bucket compared to what these reports make for companies when used as sales tool.

As you can see, there are many types of online freelance writing jobs. And, you don’t need any special education to pursue them. All you need is a computer, a simple website, some marketing muscle and a desire to succeed.

The beauty of starting an online freelance writing jobs career is that you never have to worry about being laid off — ever. Now that’s job security!

To learn everything you need about how to start a lucrative SEO copywriting career, log on to Work-from-Home-Writing-jobs.com for first-hand information from a successful SEO copywriter. There are tons of testimonials from others who’ve found success as SEO writers on the site also.

Foreclosure Cleaning Business Opportunity: 1 in 54 Homes Entered Foreclosure in 2008

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

While the numbers in the title of this article may seem astounding, it’s true according to the MSN real estate piece entitled, “Foreclosures up 81% in 2008.” Of course, this spells opportunity for those who clean foreclosures for a living, or those who want to start a foreclosure cleanup business.

But digging deeper, what else does this mean? And, where does this leave foreclosure clean out companies? Following is an explanation.

4 Reasons Foreclosure Cleaning Companies Will Be Profitable for Years to Come

The Worst is Yet to Come: The article goes on to state that, “Rising unemployment and sliding home prices have some experts expecting 2009 to be even worse.” In other words, the worst is yet to come, and no one seems to know where the bottom is.

As President Obama criss-crosses the country selling the recently “signed into law” stimulus package, the part that concerns homeowners is not the proposed $400-$800 more it will put into their pockets — but what is going to be done with the $40-$50 billion dollars that have been allocated to stem the tide of foreclosures.

This brings up the next point, ie . . .

Foreclosure (Loan Modification) Programs are Not Working: There are a host of loan modification programs out there aimed at helping struggling homeowners stave off foreclosure. But, the numbers cited highlight the fact that very few of them are working.

And again, it’s going to get worse before it gets better because guess what, it’s no longer just those who got subprime mortgages who are going into foreclosure. Now, those with fixed-rate mortgages (ie, those who had good credit and got traditional mortgages) are starting to default on their mortgages too.

A Credit Suisse managing director interviewed for the above-mentioned article said he expects over 8 million foreclosures to happen over the next four years. This means lots of business coming down the pike for foreclosure cleaning businesses.

Job Losses Compounding the Problem: Job losses are probably why even borrowers with good credit who have traditional mortgages are losing their homes. Everyone from GM to Home Depot to Starbucks is slashing jobs.

And, as the mortgage is usually the biggest expense, it also becomes the hardest payment to keep up with when a job is lost.

Again, this spells opportunity for foreclosure cleaning business owners.

Hard to Qualify for a Home Loan: With tons of houses already on the market, tons more are about to be added because it’s harder to qualify for a mortgage now.

Even the proposed $8,000 tax credit to homebuyers that’s in the stimulus bill won’t help this. For, how can you get this credit if you can’t qualify for a mortgage? Banks now require high credit scores of between 750 and 780 to get a home loan. Just a few years ago when the real estate market was booming, you could get 100% financing with a measly 580 credit score. This underscores the dramatic change the industry has undergone.

Why Cleaning Foreclosures for a Living is a Growth-Oriented Job and Business Opportunity

While things will get better — because that’s the American way — cleaning foreclosures is a business opportunity that’s going to boom for some time to come. And, even when the market rights itself, there will still be a need for the types of services full-service foreclosure cleaning companies offer.
